Thurman D. Harris, 96, of Harrisburg, Arkansas was in the loving arms of Jesus as the sun rose on the morning of March 14, 2025. Having first been celebrated on this side of Heaven by his family with prayer, scripture, and music. He was proud to have been a career member of the United States Air Force. It was his honor to be a descendant of Benjamin Harris Sr. who donated land for the courthouse of Harrisburg, Arkansas.

The son of Cleveland C. and Bertha Mae (Workman) Harris who preceded him in death.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Ann Sepulvado and second wife, Geneva Echols Harris. Thurman was preceded in death by four brothers: B. F. Harris, Dewey Harris, C. J. Harris and Ralph Harris, and four sisters: Wilma Allene Page, Evelyn Muse, Madge Self and Posie Churchwell. He was formerly a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Thurman is survived by his sister, Norma Sue Darr of Jonesboro, Arkansas, sons: Jimmy (Cindy) Harris of McAlpin, Florida, Ronnie (Mary) Harris of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Gary Harris of Little Rock, Arkansas, his daughter, Jan (Larry) Murphy of Bentonville, Arkansas and stepson, Owen (Shelley) Echols, of Jonesboro, Arkansas. He counted it a blessing to have caring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

There will be a celebration of his life at Jackson’s Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Arkansas on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. The viewing will take place one hour prior to this at 1:00 P.M.

Donations can be made in his honor to Samaritan’s Purse in Watauga County, North Carolina, or Florida Sheriff’s Boys Ranch in Live Oak, Florida. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home
