Two suspects in Stone County Jail on drug charges

An Arkansas State Trooper recently arrested two suspects in Stone County who were on the way to Mountain Home to sell illegal drugs, according to court documents.

Arkansas State Police Trooper Blake Johnson stopped a 2001 Ford Explorer, Thursday, Jan. 11, on Hwy. 5 N for fictitious tags and occupants not wearing seat belts, according to Stone County Circuit Court info.

The driver of the Explorer, Corey T. Ensign, 30, had a suspended driver’s license and two active warrants from other towns asking for his arrest.  The passenger, Nicole Michelle Jenner, 22, did not have a driver’s license and had a pending drug paraphernalia charge.

The court documents noted an investigation turned up Xanax pills, marijuana, over 40 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a 9mm pistol with a loaded magazine.

Ensign and Jenner admitted to authorities during a post-Miranda statement they had gone to Little Rock and purchased two ounces of meth to take to Mountain Home and sell, according to court info. Each said in the interviews they partnered to buy the drug and paid $900 for it.

Prosecuting Attorney Holly Meyer charged Ensign with three felonies: possession of meth, simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to use meth, along with two misdemeanor drug charges involving the marijuana and Xanax. Jenner was charged with two felonies: possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jenner’s bond was set at $25,000 while Ensign’s bond is $50,000. Both are in jail awaiting a court appearance.
