A large portion of northern Arkansas will be under a Winter Weather Advisory from 3 p.m. today until 6 a.m. tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service.
Freezing rain and some sleet are expected with total ice accumulations of up to two-tenths of an inch predicted, with the highest amounts generally located in Van Buren, Cleburne, Independence, Searcy, Stone, and Izard counties. The ice will result in difficult travel conditions.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
