The Rebecca Gould murder case that occurred in Izard County almost 14 years ago is being revisited by a New York journalist and licensed private investigator with local ties.
Katherine Townsend, now living in New York but originally from Mountain View, has been obsessed with the 2004 case where Gould, a 22-year-old student from Izard County, was found dead outside Melbourne during a weekend visit home from college.
Townsend, who has worked for the Investigation Discovery Network, has probed the case off and on over the years and eventually became a licensed investigator because of her interest.
But this time, Townsend says she is better prepared to follow leads wherever they go. She has assembled a team to help investigate the various theories of Gould’s cold case and is producing a podcast about the murder that will be released in August through the How Stuff Works podcast network.
Listen to Gary B.’s recent interview with Townsend about the case below.
It will also be broadcast on Arkansas 103.3 KWOZ at 1:05 p.m. today and on 93 KZLE at 9:05 a.m. tomorrow on “The Official Word” brought to you by First Community Bank.
