In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 28, just after Friday midnight, a one-vehicle accident on Highway 25 near Concord in Cleburne County took the life of a 17-year-old male.

State Police Trooper Drew Pannell, in his preliminary report, said a GEO Tracker was going north on State Highway 25 when it crossed the center line and left the roadway on the left-hand side. The Tracker then struck a roadside culvert, and overturned, ejecting the driver. The driver was a 17-year-old male.

Trooper Pannell said the weather was clear and the roadway dry at the time of the accident. The juvenile was the 273rd fatality on state highways this year.

In another accident late Saturday afternoon near Choctaw in Van Buren County, a Searcy man was killed in a one-vehicle accident.

State Trooper Van T. Stobaugh said 42-year-old Glen Henson of Searcy was driving his Hyundai Sonata east on Highway 95 when it went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, killing Henson. There were no passengers. Trooper Stobaugh said the roadway was dry and the weather clear at the time of the accident.
