A Stone County man is being charged under the Habitual Offender Act as he is charged with two felonies after an attack on his wife.
Court information says 38-year-old Ricky Edward Hicks, on Sept. 23, got into a verbal confrontation with his wife, which later turned into an attack involving the chocking of Mrs. Hicks. The court record said all that was done while a child was present.
Ricky E. Hicks is in custody and charged with: aggravated assault on a family member, and also charged with an enhancement because the domestic violence offense was committed in the presence of a child.
Hicks is also being charged under the Habitual Offender Act — having previously been convicted of more than one felony.
Hicks bond was set at $10,000.
