In a Facebook post over the weekend, it was announced that longtime Batesville resident Mark Wyatt is now the new manager at the Paul H. “Rocky” Willmuth Shooting Sports Complex. Wyatt, a veteran of the Batesville restaurant scene, posted on the complex’s Facebook page Saturday evening, saying:
“I would like to introduce myself to the patrons of the Range. I am Mark Wyatt son of Wayne and Dolores. I have two brothers Sam and Dan.
I have lived in Independence County since the 5th grade, a long time ago.
I graduated from Batesville High School and attended Arkansas College for a brief time.
I owned and managed Kelley’s and Kelley Wyatt’s Restaurant for the past 40 years.
I am a Christian and attend North Heights Church of Christ.
Married to Missy and together we have 6 children and 12 grands with one more on the way and at least one more promised.
Life member of the NRA and I love to shoot any kind of firearm.”

Wyatt went on to assure patrons the complex will continue being “a quality shooting center with a family friendly atmosphere.” Potential new projects expected this year include a “ladies only” introduction to clay shooting along with father-son and father-daughter shoots.
Wyatt will be on hand at the range Saturday, Feb. 2, from 1 until 5 p.m. to welcome visitors and to discuss upcoming events. Refreshments will be served.
The Paul H. “Rocky” Willmuth Shooting Sports Complex is located at 3600 N. St. Louis St. in Batesville. The range is operated by a five-person commission appointed by Independence County and city of Batesville officials. During the month of January, the range is open Sundays from 1 until 5 p.m. Regular hours begin Friday, Feb. 1, according to the complex’s website.
