An arrest warrant has been issued for a Cushman woman who apparently stabbed her boyfriend during an argument Monday morning.
Information from Independence County Circuit Court states the suspect, Ashley Nicole Lewis, 25, stabbed her boyfriend, Nathan Franks in the throat while they argued.
During a conversation with Deputy Jason Cole of the Independence County Sheriff’s Office, Franks said Lewis physically attacked him. He said, at first, he thought Lewis had only punched him with her fist, but then realized he had been stabbed with a small folding-blade knife.
A witness, Robert Burks, said he was in the living room of the residence, but did not see the incident occur. Burks said he saw Ashley come out of the bedroom, flee out the front door, and across the backyard. Burks said he then saw Franks step out of the bedroom with a puncture wound to his throat.
The court record indicates Burks administered first aid to Franks, who did not want professional medical care at the time. It was not until later in the day that law enforcement was contacted after Franks was brought to the White River Medical Center.
Ashley Nicole Lewis has been charged in circuit court with felony first-degree battery. A $25,000 bond has been set by Judge Chaney Taylor.
