Authorities have charged a Mountain View man for filing a false report with a law enforcement agency.
On Feb. 25, an arrest warrant was issued for Willard E. Moyers, 52, a Mountain View man and charges were filed in Stone County Circuit Court for filing the report.
The court information said Moyers reported to police that a woman he lives with took his food stamp card, his tools, televisions, tool boxes, an air compressor, and a generator.
Altogether, Mountain View police said Moyers filled three pages with lost or stolen property which had an estimated value of just over $34,000.
The documents went on to say that police had audio from the Stone County Jail that tells what was really happening. While talking on the phone to the woman he accused of stealing his property, Moyers is reported to have told her: “Sell whatever you have to sell.”
Moyers bond was set at $10,000.
