The Lyon College Jazz Band, under the direction of Monty Hill, will present a concert on Tuesday, April 2, at the Melba Theater in downtown Batesville beginning at 7 p.m.
The concert will feature an opening performance by the Batesville High School Jazz Band directed by Josh Poff and the Greater Little Rock Metropolitan Jazz All-Stars directed by Joe Trusty. This evening of “Big Band Music” will feature selections that will be appealing to all.
The Lyon College portion of the evening will include classics such as Frank Sinatra’s “Come Fly with Me” and “That’s Life.” The first ever Bossa nova “Bim-Bom” and the classic “Birdland” will round out the program. Admission is free and concessions may be purchased as the Melba throughout the evening.
