An Independence County woman was charged Friday with two felonies and a misdemeanor after she was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Independence County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jordan Turner stopped a suspicious vehicle after it pulled into the driveway of a residence where he knew it didn’t belong.
During an investigation, a backseat passenger, Shaun Michael Templin (pictured, right), 25, was taken into custody after Turner found Templin had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
While searching the vehicle, Turner found a backpack owned by the front seat passenger, Caila Lee Ann Rhodes (pictured, left), 21. A search of the backpack found it contained an item of drug paraphernalia.
Rhodes was taken into custody and to the Independence County Detention Facility. A customary strip search of Rhodes by a jail matron found a meth smoking pipe hidden in her underwear, according to authorities.
Rhodes is being charged with two felonies: possession of drug paraphernalia and furnishing prohibited articles into a jail. She is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
