Two Independence County men have been arrested and charged with felonies, and both have been charged as habitual offenders.
On Friday, June 21, officers went to an address in the 4000 block of North Central Avenue on information that a wanted man, Richard Wiltrout (pictured, right), 45, was residing at the residence, according to court information. Wiltrout’s brother was also found there, William Jason Medley (pictured, left), 39, who told officers he did not know the location of Wiltrout, but believed he was camping out at an unknown location on Sandtown Road.
Officers informed Medley’s probation/parole officer that he was drinking alcoholic beverages and was asked to put him in jail for violation of his probation. Officers said once he realized he was going to jail, he changed his story and gave another address for Wiltrout.
Wiltrout was found at that address. In addition, officers found in plain view meth and drug paraphernalia. Wiltrout was placed in jail and charged with two felonies: possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use meth.
Medley has been charged with Hindering the apprehension of Wiltrout, a felony. Wiltrout’s bond was set at $50,000 and Medley’s bond at $25,000.
