Kathy McKenny, district president for United Methodist Women, was recently in the studios of the White River Now radio stations to discuss an upcoming bilingual prayer service for the border crisis and migrant detainees that will be hosted by the First United Methodist Church, 615 E. Main St., in Batesville. Five other area churches are also involved in the service which will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 21. All people from all denominations are welcome.

“What we have done is plan a prayer service to pull people in this community together to pray, to sing, to hear scripture, and to pray for all the parties involved in this crisis, but most of all, for the detained migrants, especially for the children,” said McKenny.
