The Bad Boy Mowers Splash and Dash for Literacy was held Saturday, July 13, in Batesville. The event, a fundraiser for the Ozark Foothills Literacy Project, consisted of a 150-yard swim, an 8.9-mile bike ride, and a 1.7-mile run, and swimming and running competitions for kids ages 5-18.
The top three in the overall results for the triathalon were:
1 Wesley Greer, 34, of Batesville, with a time of 40:08
2 Tony Hammack, 50, of Batesville, with a time of 45:02
3 Ricky Utley, 52, of Beebe, with a time of 45:51
The top three in the results for female triathletes were:
1 Maggie Williams, 43, of Batesville, with a time of 58:50
2 Charissa Marshall, 30, of Benton, with a time of 1:00:54
3 Larissa Clark, 44, of Pleasant Plains, with a time of 1:06:10
The top three in the results for kids ages 5-6 in the Splash and Dash swim and run were:
1. Collin Sowers, 5, of Batesville
2. Victor Hines, 5, of Maumelle
3. Elsie Muse, 5, of Judsonia
The top three in the results for kids ages 7-9 in the Splash and Dash swim and run were:
1. Justice Hines, 8, of Maumelle
2. Darcy Nikkel, 9, of Batesville
3. Zander Lindsey, 7, of Batesville
The top three in the results for kids ages 10-12 in the Splash and Dash swim and run were:
1. Sam Smith, 11, of Batesville
2. Parker Coggins, 12, of Batesville
3. Zach Johnston, 12, of Batesville
The top result for kids ages 13-15 in the Splash and Dash swim and run was Molly Guth, 14, of Batesville, while Lillie Guth, 16, of Batesville, claimed the top spot in the kids’ ages 16-17 category.
Julian Stroud, 5, Elliot Hunt, 5, and Kendall Johnson, 8, all of Batesville, rounded out the top three in the overall kids run.
