The Melbourne Bearkatz had an exciting start to the 2019 football season as they opened play Friday night against the Charleston Tigers at Hendrix College in Conway.
After the Bearkatz got off to a 21-12 lead early in the second quarter. The Tigers finally took the lead with about five minutes to play, but a 36-yard touchdown grab by Eli Harrell led the way for the Bearkatz to come back and win by a final score of 28-24.
The Bearkatz next game will be next week at home as they host the Midland Mustangs at Bearkatz Stadium.
