Stone County authorities charged two men and a woman with felonies on Wednesday in Stone County Circuit Court.
Jimmy Ray Lewis (pictured above), 34, was caught in the act of burglarizing a residence on Highway 14 East, according to court documents. Prosecutors say Lewis was actually caught in the residence by Stone County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Meeks.
Lewis ran out of the residence with Meeks in pursuit until the deputy ran Lewis down and handcuffed him, the documents report.
After an investigation by the Stone County Sheriff’s Department, Lewis was charged with six felonies: two counts of residential burglary; possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon; possession of methamphetamine; simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm; and breaking or entering
Lewis is also charged with fleeing on foot and theft of property. And, he is being charged under the Habitual Offender Law.
A bond on Lewis was set at $50,000.

In another case from Stone County Circuit Court on Wednesday, Brandon C. Mills (pictured below), 19, was charged with one count of failure to register as a sex offender.
The court record said Mills moved from a Highway 5 residence to Helms Road and did not report the change in residence as required by law.
Authorities also say he has registration fees that are due. Failure to register is a Class C felony by law. A bond has been set on Mills at $5,000.

And, Michelle Nicole Black, 65, was charged Wednesday in Stone County Circuit Court with felony theft by receiving.
The charge comes from an Aug. 31 incident where Stone County Sheriff’s Deputy Jim Doss and Reserve Deputy Joseph Blake observed a vehicle parked on the edge of a roadway while the two were on patrol, court documents note. Inside the vehicle, the deputies found Black, who appeared to be asleep in the backseat of the car.
A check on the vehicle revealed it had been reported stolen in Denton, Tex. in 2017, and authorities also found the car was a rental vehicle that Black had refused to return. The court information noted Black has no known address and apparently has been living out of her vehicle for almost two years. It also reported Black has a criminal history of misdemeanor joyriding.
The vehicle was towed from the scene to be returned to Denton.
Black was released from custody on her own recognizance.
