Mountain Yellowjackets lose to the Greenland Pirates in the first round of playoff action, 54-24

Tonight in the first round of the Class 3A State Playoffs the Mountain View Yellowjackets lost to the Greenland Pirates by a score of 54-24 at Greenland High School.

Greenland’s Zaylen Bryant exploded for 206 yards on 13 carries and six touchdowns as Greenland controlled the game throughout.

Mountain View scored on a 69-yard touchdown pass from Sophomore Elijah Carlton to Junior J’Air Jackson and a 62-yard touchdown run on a fake punt by Jackson.

The final touchdown for the Yellowjackets came from Senior Keegan Ray who scored on a five-yard touchdown run.

Mountain View’s season will come to an end with a 5-6 record, while Greenland improves to 7-4 and will advance to play Osceola next week in the second round of the state playoffs.
