The Southerners moved to 1-0 in conference play and 3-4 overall with a 39-27 win in Highland over the Rebels Tuesday night.
Devan Halford had 20 points and Blayne Bufford had seven to lead Southside.
The Southerner defense held the Rebels to 27% shooting as the Rebels went 8-29 from the field.
