Daisy Clay (Goodman) Wilson of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, at the age of 77. She was born June 14, 1942 in Harmony Grove, Arkansas, the daughter of Ira Franklin and Pankie Eline (Willbanks) Goodman.
Wilson was an LPN, working over 20 years as the school nurse at Newport School District. She also worked at Newport Hospital and Lindley Healthcare and Rehab during that time.
Wilson was a wonderful mother, who enjoyed time spent with her family more than anything.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Wilson; two brothers, Hoover Goodman and Robert Goodman; and her parents.
Wilson is survived by one son, Gregory Dean Wilson of Newport; one daughter, Carolyn Ann Wilson Dates, and husband, David, of Reno, Nevada; one sister, Gracie Lee Wilson of Pocahontas; nieces and nephews, Sandra and Shelby Mross of Strawberry, Valerie Mross, and Izzy Mross of Strawberry; her tomcat, Bubba; and several other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Private graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at Clark Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are Greg Wilson, Shelby Mross, Randy Holcomb, Cody Holcomb, and Jerry Bise.
