A Tuckerman man could be facing felony charges after being stopped in Independence County yesterday morning.
According to the incident report, Deputy Adam McGilton was on patrol Jan. 12 when he saw a vehicle with no license plate. Initially, McGilton reported the vehicle driver did not heed his emergency lights, but finally, the driver, identified as Anthony Frank Parks (pictured), 42, of Tuckerman, pulled over.
The deputy found that Parks did not have a valid driver’s license and also discovered the car, a 2008 Chevy Malibu, had been stolen from Paragould, the report said. In addition to the stolen vehicle, officers found debit and charge cards inside the vehicle along with a driver’s license belonging to a Paragould woman.
Parks was taken to jail and placed on a hold by the Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Aaron Moody.
Possible charges against Parks include: fleeing, driving on a suspended driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of theft by receiving (credit cards and the vehicle). The car was taken to a “holding pen” to be returned to its owner.
