For the fourth consecutive year, the Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets advanced to the semifinals of the Class 3A State Tournament with a 60-41 victory over the Hoxie Lady Mustangs.
Mountain View led the game throughout jumping out to a 16-13 lead after one quarter of play led by Junior Aubrey Isbell’s 10 points in the first quarter.
Mountain View would expand their lead to nine late in the second quarter before Hoxie would close the quarter on a 4-0 run to cut Mountain View’s lead to 28-23 at halftime.
Mountain View would start the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run to increase their lead to 14 and take control of the game.
They would outscore the Lady Mustangs 18-7 in the fourth to seal the victory.
Isbell led the offense with 23 points and eight rebounds, Josie Storey had 14 points, Caitlyn Lopez eight points, Chaelann Vickers six points and 12 rebounds, Kennedy Holland five points and Emry Johnson four points.
Mountain View improved to 26-5 on the season and will play Saturday at noon against the winner of Central Arkansas Christian and Charleston.
