A Newark, Ark., man is facing having a suspended sentence revoked after being accused of going back to his illegal drug ways.
Prosecutors say he was under a 72-month suspended sentence as part of his punishment from a 2018 incident. On Oct. 3, 2018, Dalton Booth, 25, entered a negotiated plea of guilty to the charges of two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to 140 months (12 years) in prison, followed by 72-months suspended sentence.
Prosecutors, in their Independence County Circuit Court filing, say Booth, on March 5, 2020, violated conditions of his suspended sentence when he committed the offenses of two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule VI drug, usually marijuana, with the purpose to deliver.
Booth is currently in jail and has been placed on a $20,000 cash bond.
