Alice Marie (Caperton) Hohn of Jonesboro, formerly of Grubbs, departed this life on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at the age of 87. She was born November 25, 1932, in Jackson County, the daughter of Ollie Lynn and Willie Mae (Vinson) Caperton.
She was a home health aide for 10 years and worked at Grubbs Elementary School as a teacher’s aide. She enjoyed her job with home health, once earning Aide of the Year. She worked side by side with her husband, Billy, for many years on the farm.
She enjoyed doing word find puzzles and listening to gospel music. She was a member of Grubbs First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, and often performed specials.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Willie “Billy” Eugene Hohn; her parents; five brothers, Kim, Junior, R.P, O.L., and Don Caperton; and two sisters, Ressie Winchester and Helen Burnside.
She is survived by three sons, Nick Hohn of Rolla, Miss., Jeff Hohn and wife, Donna, of Weiner, and Lonnie Hohn and wife, Carolyn of Newport, one sister, Betty Riley and husband, Bo, of Tuckerman, ten grandchildren, Beulah Renee Hohn, Brandy Williams, Natalie Hohn, Lacy Gates, Dana Hamilton, Amber Sullins, Drew Hohn, Ricky Hohn, Dustin Hohn, and Rochelle Hohn; eighteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral services will be private, with burial at Ballew’s Chapel Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Parker Williams, Carson Simmons, Brandon Bagwell, Jonathon Pierangeli, Blake Williams, and Crockett Williams.
Honorary Pallbearers are Brian Lancaster, Wayne Mitchell, Dot Kinard, Janie Mitchell, Herman Skaggs, Gary Hopkins, and Wilma Jean Logan.
