George Henry Tyson, 76, of Newport departed this life Friday, April 24, 2020. He was born July 26, 1943, to Henry and Maud (Brown) Tyson. He was of the Baptist belief. He enjoyed fishing, working with his hands, cutting grass and riding bikes.
He was preceded in death by one daughter; JoAnn Balentine, three sons; Issiah Tyson, Lewis Tyson, and Lynn Balentine, parents, two brothers; Daniel Norman and William Henry Jones.
His survivors are sons; Eric Smith of Amarillo, Texas, and Patrick Smith of Houston, stepsons; Freddie Balentine of Oregon, and John Balentine of Texas, daughter; Stephanie Lynn Tyson of Los Angelas, Calif., and stepdaughter; Doris Balentine Cash of Houston, sisters; Louise Johnson of Michigan, Blanch Cornelious of Oklahoma, and Jewell Jimerson (James) of Wynne, nineteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
