Isaiah Friar, 78, of Newport departed this life Sunday, May 17, 2020. He was born April 21, 1942, to Isaiah and Christine (James) Friar. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and dominos.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Earnet Friar, daughters; Pamela Davis and Irish Childress, son; Isaiah Friar, Jr., brothers; Robert Friar, Kenny Friar, and Melvin Friar, and sisters; Doris Ann Friar and Barbara Friar.
His survivors are sons; Jerome Friar of Newport, Michael Friar of Newport, Lee Friar of Newport, and Brad Friar of Newport, daughters; Daffeny Friar of Newport, Christina Friar of Newport, Charlotte Dixson (James) of Newport, Arnett Friar of Newport, Ikeshia McCoy of Newport, and Lenora Friar of Newport, brothers; Jimmy Dean Friar of Illinois, John Friar (Joann) of Illinois, Lavoyd Friar of Newport, Charles Friar of Illinois, Sylvester Friar of Illinois, J.L. Friar of Newport, William Friar (Keena) of Illinois, and Eddie B. Briar of Illinois, sisters; Mary Friar of Illinois, and Linda Kay Friar of Illinois, forty grandchildren; sixty plus great-grandchildren, and ten plus great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
