The county has completed repairs to the bridge on Camp Tahkodah Road, according to Independence County Judge Robert Griffin — but the bridge has still not yet reopened.
The local ArDOT engineers have committed to work over to complete the paperwork to submit to the Little Rock ArDOT offices overnight, the judge said Thursday afternoon.
“We hope to have it confirmed to be reopened Friday morning,” Griffin said. “Until then, it should not be used.”
Two county bridges were closed last week by order of the state of Arkansas. The other bridge, on Thida Road near Union Hill, has already been repaired and reopened.
The state is mandated by the Federal Highway Act to inspect bridges. After inspection, the two bridges were mandated for needed repairs for structural deficiencies.
