“Honored. Excited. Proud.”
Those are the words of Deerick Smith, the strength and conditioning coach for the Southside Charter High School, as he was named regional coach of the year by the National High School Strength Coaches Association Tuesday night. The region covers Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.
“All credit for the award goes to the Southside kids, coaches, administrators, and board members for making his job so easy,” Smith said.
On his Twitter account, Smith posted: “THANK YOU to our athletes who are the best group of kids I could ever work with, our administration For providing us the tools to be successful and all our sport coaches for trusting me to work with their kids and allowing me to be a part of the culture that they have built!!”
