Sarah Anne Buchanan, 52, of Batesville, passed away on March 7, 2021.
Sarah, the daughter of James G. Buchanan and Joanna R. Buchanan, was born on January 8, 1969, in Parma, Ohio.
She is survived by her two children, Annabel Gereau and Graydon Gereau. Other surviving family members include her parents; her sisters, Grace Holzman and Alice Sekhar; and one niece and four nephews.
Sarah excelled in her educational pursuits. She graduated from Batesville High School as a National Merit Finalist. Sarah was a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Missouri State University, Springfield Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She received a Master of Arts in Sociology from Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock.
Music was important to Sarah. She played clarinet in the Batesville High School band and in the Missouri State University band. She was also a gifted artist.
A memorial service for Sarah Buchanan will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Batesville.
The funeral home will be complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks and social distancing will be observed.
