A woman arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Southside Saturday, March 20, indicated to her arresting officer to having a bag of meth hidden in her bra, but she said the smoking pipe found in her vehicle didn’t belong to her, court records filed in Independence County Circuit Court on Wednesday said.
Two passengers riding with the woman, who is identified in the affidavit of probable cause for arrest as Rachel Elaine Allen, 38, also denied knowledge and ownership of the glass smoking pipe found by authorities under the front seat of the vehicle Allen was driving. The pipe, with “white and burnt residue,” was consistent with those used for smoking methamphetamine, according to the court information.
The two passengers, one a juvenile, were not found to be in possession of any suspected meth, the affidavit said.
Allen was transported to the Independence County Jail where a matron retrieved one clear plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance that later was field-tested with positive results for methamphetamine.
Allen is facing two felony charges: possession of less than two grams of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to inject, ingest, or inhale methamphetamine. Her bond was set at $5,000.
