There is now a second Republican candidate in the running for the office of Independence County Judge.
In a Monday press release announcing his candidacy for the office, Benjamin Rogers said his degree in environmental science with a focus on city planning gives him “…a unique insight on ways to improve functionality in areas of our county that may have been previously overlooked, and ways to serve you, its citizens, better.”
In his announcement for the county judge run, Rogers, who grew up in Independence County, said he returned with his then-expectant wife, Crystal, when he medically retired from the military. About Independence County, Rogers said in the release, “…there was no other place that we wanted to raise our child.”
Also in the announcement, Rogers acknowledged the improvements made by current County Judge Robert Griffin, noting such examples as balancing the budget as well as the repair and maintenance of miles of roads and bridges.
Griffin announced last week he would not seek a sixth term as county judge. Click here for that article.
In May, Bryan Anderson, a county resident who recently retired from ARDOT, announced his candidacy for county judge, also in the Republican primary. Click here for that article.
