A Batesville woman and a minor died in a two-vehicle accident early Friday morning on U.S. Highway 167 in rural White County, near Prince Cemetary Road.
According to the Arkansas State Police’s preliminary report, a 2016 Chevrolet Sonic driven by Ashley Modlin, 33, of Batesville, was northbound on Highway 167 when it veered to the left and crossed the center turn lane. The report says the front left side of Modlin’s vehicle then collided with the front left side of a 2014 GMC Acadia that was heading south on Highway 167.
A minor riding in Modlin’s car was killed along with Modlin while another minor in the vehicle was injured. The driver of the Acadia was also injured.
The report stated the weather condition was dark and the road condition was dry at the time of the accident.
