On Monday, local leaders across many industries, from healthcare to banking to local officials, met at White River Medical Center to discuss the rapid emergence of COVID-19 and the Delta variant in the area.

A COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force was formed from that meeting to provide information about vaccinations and create convenient opportunities for citizens in our communities to receive the vaccine.

The chairpersons of the task force, Dr. J.D. Allen and Mark Lamberth, are inviting the public to local community events featuring local physicians and leaders to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations.

Leaders will be available on-site to answer your questions about the vaccine, and vaccines will be available to participants on-site.

According to a release from White River Health System, the first task force events will be at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 22, at the Floral Fire Department, Pleasant Plains Area Volunteer Fire Department, and Union Hill and Thida Fire Department.
