Obituary: Charles Ronald “Ron” Pruett

Charles Ronald Pruett “Ron”, 73 of Batesville passed away Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021.

Ron was born Aug. 30, 1947, in Cord, Arkansas to Charles Nathaniel and Pansy Mae (Bennett) Pruett.

After moving to Dupo, Illinois with his parents and brother Steven, Ron started his draftsman training at Rankin Trade School.  This served as the foundation for a successful career beginning in the Engineering Department with Peabody Coal.

He also worked for United Press International and was the former owner of Fred’s Fish House in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

An avid sports fan, Ron was a lifelong supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks, St. Louis Cardinals, and NASCAR.

A keen sense of humor and uncompromising ethics were just two of his many attributes which made him special.  He attended First Methodist Church in Batesville.  Ron was a loving, devoted husband, and a beloved father and brother.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Alex and Stefan Pruett.

Survivors include his wife and the love of his life, Lisa Pruett; one daughter, Angie Pruett-Lloyd (Greg) of Poseyville, Indiana; one son, Brandt Pruett (Joan) of Farmington Hills, Michigan; one brother, Steven Pruett (Paula) of Carefree, Arizona; stepchildren Matthew Martin (Candace) and Sunny Martin, both of Batesville; grandson Steven Pruett; step-grandchildren, Sydney and Spencer Martin; very close friend Jerry Townsley of Batesville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hopewell Cemetery in Cord, Arkansas with Brother Curt Howard officiated.
