The 2021 Pioneer season didn’t start as well as hoped for as the Pioneers fell to the Greenbrier Panthers by a final score of 44-10.
It was all Greenbrier in the first half, leading 14-0 at the end of the first quarter and 42-0 at halftime.
Batesville’s first points came on a 40-yard field goal from Esler Ordonez at the end of the third quarter. Batesville’s lone touchdown came on a late fourth-quarter run by sophomore Gabe Witt. Ordonez added the extra point.
The Pioneers will play on Thursday night against the Searcy Lions at Lion Stadium in a game that will be broadcast on statewide television.
