Albert Louis Collier, Jr., of Newark, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at the age of 70.
He was born June 16, 1951, in Newport, the son of Albert Louis “Tom” and Eugenia (Hayden) Collier.
Collier was a 1969 graduate of Newport High School. He retired from Entergy Power Plant in Newark in 2013.
Collier was a member of the Newport Country Club, where he loved to golf. He was a master craftsman, who was skilled in woodworking and welding. His greatest joy in life came from time spent with his sons and granddaughters.
Collier was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Eugenia Collier.
He is survived by two sons, Trey Collier of Maumelle, and Tyler Collier and wife, Mary Elizabeth of Azle, Texas; one sister, Tomagene Powell, and husband, Jerry, of Pleasant Plains; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Lynne and Louise Guinn Collier; Trey and Tyler’s mother, Lynne Collier of Newport; his step-mother, Helen Collier of Little Rock; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Mr. John Pennington officiating.
