Mary Opal Galloway Rosencrants, 89, Of Batesville passed away On Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021.
She was born On Dec. 9, 1931, in Batesville, Arkansas, to Paul Aubrey And Opal Hobbs Galloway. Mary grew up in Batesville where she was surrounded by many who loved her.
In 1954 Mary and her family moved to Michigan where she raised her children while also working for General Motors.
She enjoyed snowmobiling, deer hunting with her boys, bowling, and teaching ceramics in her home.
She then moved back to Batesville after She and her husband retired from General Motors. She worked at Gen Corp and loved visiting and interacting with the residents at Woodlawn Nursing Home.
Mary traveled all over the United States visiting relatives and friends.
She loved people and never met a stranger.
She was always active in her church and was a faithful member of the Pleasant Plains Church Of Christ.
Mary loved garage sales and playing euchre and rummy with her family.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include daughter, Linda Jordan (Charles) of Batesville, AR, son, Edward Andrew Courtney II (Janice) of The Woodlands, TX, son, Keith Lee Rosencrants (Michelle) of Bentonville, AR, son, Kevin Lee Rosencrants (Ginger) of Greenwood, MO., daughter, Linda Sue Kleinfeld (Max) of Birch Run, MI. Nine grandchildren, Edward Andrew Courtney III (Jessica), Joshua Edward Courtney, Michael Lee Rosencrants, Courtney Brooke Rosencrants, Corey Kleinfeld, Andrea Kleinfeld, Jennifer Rosencrants, Tabitha Rosencrants, and Lance Rosencrants. Four great-grandchildren, Hunter Lee Courtney, Layla Jeanne Courtney, Edward Andrew Courtney IV, and Kendall Kleinfeld. Two brothers, Billy Galloway (Chongho) of Hesperia, CA, and Anthony Galloway (Linda) of Southside, AR, one sister, Jimmie Smith, of Swartz Creek, MI. and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Burton Lee Rosencrants, two brothers, John B. Galloway and Aubrey Gene Galloway, and one son, Tommie Lee Rosencrants.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Oct. 15, 2021, At 11:00 a.m. at Willis Funeral Service with Johnny Knabe officiating. There will be a private burial. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
The family wishes to thank Caring Hands Hospice for the kindness and care given to Mary. We would also like to thank everyone for all the prayers, cards, and food.
