Benny Kinion, 83, departed this life on January 30, 2022, at his home. Benny was born to Harry M. Kinion and Dorothy L. Moore Kinion on December 19, 1938, at Springmill, Arkansas.
He served in the Army for two years before returning home in 1967 to raise his family. Benny worked for General Telephone Company for many years before retiring to raise cattle. Benny was of the Pentecostal faith. He was willing to give everyone a chance and a helping hand.
The Kinion family is a musical family, and Benny loved to play his guitar with his brother Vernon while his sister Bonnie Sue Nelson played the piano and sang. Benny loved to hunt and spend many hours deer hunting with his best friend Finis Platt in the hills behind his house.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Platt; son, George Rea (Lisa); daughters, Lynn Kinion Candler (Rick) and Judy Kinion Palmieri (Chuck); brother, Vernon Kinion; sister, Bonnie Sue Kinion Nelson (Lawrence); grandchildren, Josh Rea (Johanna), David Cox (Tiffany), Amanda Hollowell (Ruben), and Justin Candler; and great-grandchildren, Breanna Rea, Haley Rea, Lexi Hightower, Levi Hightower, Alyssa Cox, Rylan Hollowell, and Baby Hensley. Benny is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Dorothy Kinion; his late wife, Tina Kinion; son, Samuel “Sam” Kinion; brothers, Lawrence Kinion and Tommy Kinion.
A graveside service, officiated by Leonard Tharp, will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10 a.m. Pallbearers are Tony Nelson, Phillip Austin, Jim Ruple, Jason Wood, Michael Kinion, and Danny Kinion.
