State prison inmate James Hagen Glenn (pictured below, left) of Mountain View has again been denied by the Arkansas Parole Board.
Glenn was sentenced on July 11, 2018, to four years in prison with 72 months suspended sentence. His sentence was based on a negotiated plea of guilty to first-degree battery. He was also fined $2,500 plus $420 in court costs.
Glenn’s plea was after the trial of Victoria Dycus (pictured below, right), the mother of Skylar Shellstrom. Dycus was found guilty of murder and sentenced by a Stone County jury to 19 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Skylar’s death was considered a homicide by the attending emergency room physician at the Stone County Medical Center. Skylar was taken to the hospital by her mother and Glenn. The physician on duty pronounced the little, 4-year-old girl deceased. Her body was transported to the state medical examiner’s office in Little Rock. The examiner testified in court concerning the abuse Skylar’s body had taken.
