Obituary: Judy Tubbs

Judy Tubbs, 90, of Grubbs passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022.  She was born on September 14, 1931, in Tuckerman the daughter of Willie Walter Bice and Mae Slayden Bice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Tubbs; parents; daughter, Genevive Rodriquez; sisters, Virgie May Morris, Gevena Elizabeth Moffitt, and one great-grandson Matthew Tubbs.

Judy was a member of Ballew’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church for 65 years. She sang in the choir, was on the hospitality and flower committee, and women’s auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, word puzzles and reading, but most of all she loved Christmas Eve with family and the Tubbs and Bice family reunions.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Tubbs (Kathy) of Tuckerman, Robbie Tubbs; daughter, Susan Elliott (Nicky) of Newport; Brother, Bill Bice (Myra) of Grubbs; sons-in-law, Robert Moss of Tuckerman, Ed Rodriquez of Newport; grandchildren, Johnathan Tubbs (Monica), Jason Tubbs (Alison), Joey Thomas (Kimberlee), Casey Thomas, Bryan Moss (Rachel), Jeremy Moss (Jessica), Travis Tubbs, Robbie Tubbs, Jr., Nicky Tubbs, Candy Slagley, Justin Tubbs and Houston Tubbs; numerous great-grandchildren.

Service will be held, on February 9th at 3:00 pm at Ballew’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with burial following at Ballew’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 – 3:00 at the church. Brother Andy Haskins will be officiating.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Bill Bice, Johnathan Tubbs, Jason Tubbs, Joey Thomas, Bryan Moss, Jerry Moss. Honorary pallbearers are Ballew’s Chapel Ladies Sunday School Class and Robert Moss.
