Bill Walmsley, chairman of the Independence County Library Board, announced that the board unanimously accepted the resignation of the library director, Vanessa Adams. Adams’ resignation is effective Feb. 11, 2022.
The board unanimously voted to appoint Carlene Morrison as the interim director and Angela Dale as the interim assistant director. Walmsley said the board does not anticipate any disruption of library services and expects the library will continue to provide all customary resources.
The board will commence a search for a new director at its regular board meeting on February 22, 2022.
Current board members are David Thompson, Dr. Gary Coots, Dr. Bruce Johnston, Ashley Walker, and Bill Walmsley.
The Independence County Library is located at 267 E. Main Street, Batesville, AR 72501 and is open Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
