The Arkansas Supreme Court has reversed a judge’s decision to block a school district’s mask mandate.
Justices on Thursday reversed a temporary restraining order that was issued against the Bentonville School District’s requirement. Bentonville was among dozens of districts that imposed a mask requirement last year after a judge in a separate case blocked a law banning such mandates. A group of parents sued over the Bentonville requirement.
The court’s majority opinion said that state laws give school boards broad authority to determine policies.
The Bentonville district said it has no plans at this time to reimpose the mandate.
