Stewart announces run for JP District 1

Tim Stewart of McHue is seeking re-election as justice of the peace for JP District 1. JP District 1 includes the city of Southside, as well as the McHue and Allens Chapel communities.   

He currently serves as the Emergency Services committee chairperson as well as serving on the Budget and Road committees.  He is a strong supporter of our first and second amendment rights and is proud to support the continued growth and development of the city of Southside, JP District 1, and the county as a whole.  

He has 25 years experience in education, is currently a teacher with the Arkansas Correctional School District and taught previously at Southside School District.  He has also worked as a seasonal park ranger for the Army Corps of Engineers at the Greers Ferry Lake Project for the past nineteen years.  

He is a graduate of Southside High School, Arkansas State University and has a Masters Degree from Harding University and Webster University.  He served eight years in the United States Navy Reserves 1990-1998 receiving an Honorable Discharge. He is married to Ruth Oliphant Stewart, is a Republican and attends the Compass South church.

Stewart says it has been an honor and a privilege to serve JP District 1.  He looks forward to working with the new County Judge and if re-elected will continue to be a strong voice as well as an experienced and loyal steward for his community.
