Obituary: Sylvia Anderson Hallmark

Sylvia Anderson Hallmark, 80, of Idabel, Oklahoma passed away July 5, 2022, in Batesville, Arkansas.

She was born February 2, 1942, in Idabel, Oklahoma the daughter to Ralph Dwight Anderson and Thalia Hazelip Anderson.

Sylvia was of the Presbyterian faith, a lifetime resident of Idabel, and very active within the community. She owned and operated her family jewelry store, worked for the Idabel Public School system, state, and legal system, visually impaired, and volunteered at the hospital.

Sylvia was as large as life. She loved her family and friends, reading, loved to travel and had her own ostrich farm. She was married to James Larry ”Sarge” Hallmark of the U.S. Army, Oklahoma National Guard.

Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Julie Maples, Leisa Harvey, Margot Hobbs; step-daughter, Lezlea Brandon; step-son, Scott Hallmark; one sister, Andrea Tapley; grandchildren, Rachelle Baxter, Trey Hobbs, Candace Reimers, Chelsea Hobbs – Reimers; step-grandchildren, Logan Hallmark, Asheley McCaughey, and Teaylor Brandon; fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Larry Hallmark.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10:00 am at White Funeral Home Chapel in Idabel, Oklahoma with visitation the day prior, July 22, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the same location.
