The communications coordinator for the Batesville School District recently spoke at a national convention of school public relations members about the district’s solar energy array.
Megan Renihan (pictured) presented “Telling a School District’s Solar Energy Story” at the NSPRA (National School Public Relations Association) Seminar in Chicago, Ill., on Wed., July 20.
The array, the first and largest of its kind in the state, has received local, national, and international media attention since installation began in August of 2018. The savings from the implementation of the array is added back into raising teacher pay.
Renihan said the presentation shared the school’s journey with other districts to see if solar energy is an option for them. She told White River Now’s Gary Bridgman that it was an honor to represent the Batesville School District on a national level.
