The weather is hot outside, but preparations are beginning for the traditional local production of a Christmas classic.
The North Arkansas Dance Theatre (NADT), a non-profit organization, will soon be presenting its 18th annual production of “The Nutcracker.”
There will be an open casting call for children and adult (ages 5 and up) roles on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the NADT Dance Academy, 157 West Main St., in Batesville.
No formal dance training is required for these parts, and attendees do not have to be affiliated with NADT or the NADT Dance Academy to participate.
In the past, NADT says it has had participants from Stone, Independence, Izard, Sharp, and Fulton counties.
The performances will be the weekend before Thanksgiving at the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville.
For more information go to nadt.info or call 866-GOT-NADT.
