Devan Delane Hendrix, 33, of Newport, left his worldly home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 4, 2022. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born August 17, 1988, to Rhonda Hendrix-Pounders and Tony Dale Holmes.
Devan was of the Christian faith and occasionally attended the Tuckerman Faith Assembly of God Church. He was employed with Wal-Mart until he became disabled in 2013. Devan loved playing video games and watching the Walking Dead and wrestling. He was kind and compassionate and loved being around people.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tony Holmes, his paternal grandparents Jay Dee and Nell Holmes and his maternal grandparents, Alva “MaMa Jean” Hendrix and Clifford Angus Hendrix.
Devan is survived by his mom, Rhonda Hendrix-Pounders of Newport, sister, Darian Pounders, brothers, Coty Hendrix and wife Elaysha of Tuckerman and Josiah Hendrix of Newport, bonus sister, April Caraway of Newport, Niece, Izabella Caraway and Nephew, Bentley Caraway both of Newport. His Aunt, Bridget Hendrix of Wynne, Uncles, Clifford Hendrix and Marcus Hendrix both of Newport, special cousins Michelle Rodgers and Michael Knight, Jr. both of Newport and lots of other cousins he loved dearly.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Darian Pounders, Coty Hendrix, Bridget Hendrix, Clifford Hendrix, Marcus Hendrix, and Michael Knight Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Becky Gravette, Sarah Williams and Chrystal Grigsby.
The service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Brandon Gates officiating. Visitation will be at the Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will be at Gracelawn Cemetery in Tuckerman.
