Lyon College women’s soccer drops 3-0 decision to UAPB

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Lyon College women’s soccer team lost 3-0 to the Lions of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Wednesday afternoon at Pumphrey Stadium.

The Scots (0-2) had 20 saves in the game, but UAPB took 41 shots and only led 1-0 at halftime. The first goal for the Lions came at the 20:22 mark, then scored at the 59:59 and 84:51 mark of the second half.

Lyon College goalie Rhyan Hioki had 19 saves in the game. Zoe Papazoglou, Allie Mead, Emily Betzold, Allison Byars, and Hioki all played the full 90 minutes. Hailey Williams, Ashlyn Winters, Kate Whitenton, Ana Lupton, Taylor Hammons, and Alexis Whitley all started for the Scots.

Daeivon Carter, Destinee Flowers, and Trinity Arrambide all substituted in the game.

Hioki had three saves in the first 8:47 of the game, however the Scots did not have a shot on goal in the first 45 minutes. The Scots had a chance at a shot on goal, but was whistled for offsides at the 71:38 mark.
