Obituary: Harold Lavan Hogan

Harold Lavan Hogan, 82, of Weldon departed this life on August 29, 2022.  He was born in the Willis Township of Poinsett County on June 22, 1940, to Jasper and Margaret (Allmon) Hogan.

Harold served in the U.S. Army during the early sixty’s, where he was made a sergeant.  He worked as a welder at Brown Jordan for many years.  Harold enjoyed raising cattle, and gardening but, most of all he loved fishing.  He loved his family and was especially fond of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was loved by many and enjoyed the company of family and friends.  Harold was of the Pentecostal belief.  He loved to share his love for Christ with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel Hogan; his sister, Doris Beard and his grandson, Harold Michael Hogan.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Hogan of Weldon and Paul Hogan (Fonda) of Austin; his brother, Joe Hogan of Weldon; his grandchildren, Schylar Woodruff of Wisconsin, Paul Hogan of Louisiana, Jasper Hogan (Taylor) of Cabot, Dominique Pettit (Nick) of Thida, Dekoda Hogan (Megan) of Wynne; his great-grandchildren, Leigha, Hayleigh, Kash, Beckham, Indie and Karson; his niece, Cindy Hogan of Weldon and his nephew, Wesley Hogan of Michigan.

Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Dillinger Funeral Home chapel with interment at Sandhill Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Dillinger Funeral Home Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
