Harold J. “Giz” Phillips of Higden, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the age of 74. He was born on January 26, 1948, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Harold “Duke” and Clara (Vadino) Phillips.
He was a graduate of Girard High School in Ohio, and a veteran of the Navy Reserves. He retired from Arkansas Steel, as Maintenance Supervisor in 2014, following 31 years of service. Mr. Phillips enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in his shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Richard.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lucretia (Jacobs) Phillips of the home; one son, Richard Phillips and wife, Tabatha of Higden; five grandchildren, Jeffery Phillips, Haylee Denham, Sara Payne, Austin Payne, and Gabriel McDaniel.
