Obituary: Geraldine Cooley Holt

Geraldine Cooley Holt, 71, passed away on August 30, 2022. She was born in Mount Pleasant Arkansas on 1 April 1951 to Joseph and Anna Mae Brooks Cooley.

She was a member of Ruddell Hill Baptist Church where she loved singing in the church choir. She was a retired cosmetologist. She enjoyed genealogy and being a part of the Master Gardeners Club. Geraldine loved sewing quilts for her family, planting flowers, collecting antiques, and canning and was an avid crafter of the Independence County Fair.  She loved spending time with her family and loved going places with them.

She is survived by her husband, David Holt of Batesville; son, Jason Holt (Misty) of Batesville; daughter, Lorie Holt Craig (Shawn) of Newark; grandsons, Ethan Holt of Batesville and Ian Craig of Newark; brother, Larry Cooley (Marilyn) of Mount Pleasant; sisters, Agness Ingram (William) of Bethesda, Linda Copeland (Larry) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Pat Sifford of Cave City, Mary Weaver of Magness, Terri Rudd (Jim) of Magness, and Lisa Cooley of Bethesda; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Otto Cooley, and Anna Mae Brooks Cooley; brother, Leroy Cooley; sisters, Joann Cooley Brashers, and Carolyn Cooley Brown; nephew, Andrew Rudd; niece, Sydney Rudd; grandparents, Jasper Warren Brooks and Effie Myrle Weatherford Brooks, Jessie Benjamin Cooley and Lizzie Beth Colburn Cooley; and brother-in-law, Terry Weaver.

A visitation will be held at Ruddell Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Tyler Bramlett, will follow the visitation starting at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Bethesda Campground Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jamie Ingram, Joe Ingram, Ryan Weaver, Wesley Cooley, Wade Cooley, and Bradley Brooks.

Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Ruddell Hill Baptist Church.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers; please make monetary donations to Children’s Hospital or St Jude.
